Fans have been intensely keeping their eyes peeled for updates regarding Young Thug and Gunna. According to local Atlanta news station WSB-TV, the Fulton Country District Attorney’s Office reveals new information about the RICO case. The new indictment brings new drug, gang, and gun charges for Young Thug to face.
Recap
Throwback to May 2022, the Slatty rapper was arrested at his home in Buckhead. He was held on charges of conspiracy to violate the RICO act and participation in a criminal street gang. Jeffrey Williams, Young Thug’s real name, allegedly co-founded the YSL street gang (“Young Slime Life”). This street gang committed multiple murders, shootings, and carjackings for roughly a decade. Prosecutors also claim that the gang promoted its activities in songs and on social media.
Around this time, Gunna surrendered to authorities in Fulton County overnight. This was two days after he was named in the indictment.
A month later, the Fulton County judge denied bond for Young Thug after expressing that he had significant concerns about the rapper being a danger to the community and flight. Last month, Gunna was denied bond after there was talk about witnesses getting threatened.
New Charges
The district attorney’s office believes these charges add to the prosecution’s claim of Young Thug racketeering and leading the criminal street gang since 2013. According to WSB-TV, the new charges come from what the district attorney's office and Atlanta police found in the rapper’s home in Buckhead. Williams faces a new gang charge, new drug charges, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a machine gun.
In addition to this, the prosecutor also restated that Martinez Arnold, and Yak Gotti, may also face charges of the machine gun count. The defendants pleaded not guilty to the May indictment. Arnold’s defense attorney expressed that her client is not guilty considering that he does not live on Allison Drive.
