The VMA Nominees Are Here: Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X, Harlow Take The Lead
The 2022 Video Music Award nominees have been announced.
Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, and Kendrick Lamar are all tied with seven nominations each. Doja Cat and Harry Styles follow behind them with six nominations. Drake, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, the Weeknd, and Ed Sheeran each have five.
Lamar is nominated for Best Cinematography for not one, but two videos: "Family Ties" and "N95". This is a category Lamar won in 2017 ("HUMBLE") and was nominated for in 2019 ("Tints"). Lil Nas X won the 2021 Video of the Year award “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)", a category he is nominated again for this year ("Industry Baby"). Other nominees include Nicki Minaj, Pusha T, Drake, Doja Cat, Normani, Lizzo.
Voting is now open to the public.
This year the Video Music Awards are returning to New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark. The show will air Sunday, Aug. 28, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, BET, the CW, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand, and VH1.
