Social Media Reacts To Kim Kardashian Tweeting 'Free Gunna,' Can She Help?
Is Kim Kardashian gearing up to try to get Gunna released from jail?
The reality star/entrepreneur/lawyer tweeted today (July 20) "#FreeGunna," with a free and P emoji (referencing Gunna's "Pushing P").
Social media has mixed feelings. One person said, "She's freeing gunna and young thug on the next season of her tv show let's gooo." Someone asked about freeing Younh Thug as well and said, "Uhmmmm what about king slime ma'am?" Some users don't believe it's Kim and one person said, "Damn you got hacked?"
Kim Kardashian got her law degree and has been an advocate for prison reform. Her journey began in 2019, and she got her degree via an apprenticeship in 2021, after passing the baby bar. So far, she's help a list of people get released, but it's not clear if she's taking on the "Top Off's" rapper's case.
A few months ago, Young Thug and Gunna were indicted in Atlanta on RICO charges for their alleged involvement in the YSL gang. Both Atlanta rappers were denied bail, and their trial begins next year.
In the latest update, Gunna was recently denied bond and his legal team filed a petition asking neighboring Georgia county to get him released from jail. One of his lawyers, Steve Sadow released a statement to XXL:
"Sergio (Gunna) should be free on bond. We believe the judge erred by not requiring the prosecution to put up evidence at the bond hearings. We sought to ask an appellate court to review that decision, but the judge refused to let us do it. Habeas petitions are designed to secure an accused's release from custody. We are hopeful that another judge will interpret the law correctly and grant Gunna pretrial bond."
Lil Baby recently said Young Thug and Gunna are in "good spirits" despite the circumstances. Hip Hop DX reports Lil Baby said, "They doing great, they in good spirits."
