Drake Explains Why He Goes By Stage Name Instead Of Aubrey Graham

Drake breaks down the reason he uses his stage name 'Drake' instead of his real name Aubrey.

During a recent interview with Bobbi Althoff, the rapper whose middle name is Drake, explains why he decided to rap under a short name.

“Aubrey’s not a guy’s name,” Bobbi expressed. “Yes it is," Drake responded. “Have you ever met a male Aubrey?” she asked. “Yeah, you’re looking at him,” Drake rebutted. “You don’t even go by that ‘cuz it’s such a bad name,” Bobbi joked. “No, that’s not true… [I go by Drake] ‘cuz it’s shorter,” he noted. “You know, people with two syllables are way less successful than people with one.”

Drake has been getting cozy online. We previously reported that the rapper reunited with his rumored ex-girlfriend Bernice Burgos. The two were spotted backstage at one of the Toronto rapper’s “It’s All A Blur Tour” stop. “A lifetime ago” he captioned the post, along with a laughing emoji.
