Chris Rock On Oscars Slap, ‘I’m Okay, I Got Most Of My Hearing Back’

Chris Rock initially said he was keeping quiet after the “Oscars slap,” but now he’s sharing some information.As reported on Revolt, Yesterday (May 12), while performing at the United Kingdom’s Royal Albert Hall, Chris said, “I’m okay, if anybody was wondering.” Then he continued, “I got most of my hearing back.”A few weeks ago, Chris and Dave Chappelle came together for a “secret set,” fans didn’t know they would be performing. During the show, Dave reportedly said to Chris, “At least you got smacked by someone of repute!” Dave was referring to when he was recently attacked at the Hollywood Bowl. Dave continued, “I got smacked by a homeless guy with leaves in his hair.” Then Chris allegedly said, “I got smacked by the softest nigga that ever rapped.”While Chris was on stage during the Oscars, Will walked up to him and slapped him. During Chris’s comedy show, he spoke on the matter. He said he’s “still kind of processing what happened” that night. Deadline Chris said he plans on talking about it at a later time.Will was seemingly upset over a joke Chris made, which prompted Will to walk on stage and smack Chris across the face. The assault came after Chris made a joke that he was looking forward to a sequel to “G.I. Jane,” which was ultimately a jab at Jada Pinkett-Smith’s shaved head. When Will sat back down, he shouted to Chris,“keep my wife’s name out of your f*** mouth.”Will also won his first Oscar for Best Actor in ‘King Richard.’ When he accepted his speech, he delivered a tearful apology to the academy, and the following day, he wrote an apology to Chris via a social media post. As a result of the slap, Will is banned from the Oscars for ten years. He’s still able to get nominated. However, he can’t attend any events. Will responded, “I accept and respect the Academy’s decision.”
