A$AP Rocky Charged With Assault Over Alleged 2021 November Shooting
A$AP Rocky is facing an assault charge.
As reported on news sources, he’s charged with assault with a firearm over allegedly shooting an A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli in November 2021. LA County DA George Gascón, announced the charges today (August 15) for assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Gascón said,
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.” He continued,
“My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”
Last week, A$AP Relli revealed Rocky allegedly “lured” him to an obscure location to discuss a dispute. Relli filed a civil suit and is seeking $25,000 in damages. He claims he’s suffered mental and emotional injuries. Rolling Stone reports a statement that says,
"Unbeknownst to Mr. Ephron [A$AP Relii], A$AP Rocky was not just planning for a conversation and came armed with a semiautomatic handgun. After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued whereby without provocation, warning, or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the handgun and intentionally fired multiple shots at Mr. Ephron."
News of the shooting broke in April, but police didn’t reveal the victim’s name. Rocky was arrested and released on a $500,000 bond. His next court date is August 17.
