2 Chainz is back with new music!So Help Me God is 2 Chainz’ sixth studio album, and his last album with Def Jam before becoming an independent artist. So Help Me God is a star-studded 15-track album with features from Lil Wayne, Mulatto, Rick Ross, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates, and more. 2 Chainz told Ebro In The Morning that his album is a testimony to being truthful. “I like to call it a light during a dark time, meaning that it’s still a time capsule of what’s going on in 2020…but it’s not the dark side of 2020. I wanted to have something cool, something fun that could still be looked at that we know this came out in 2020. He wanted to use his school picture, which was a proof because his family couldn’t afford to buy the package. 2 Chainz went on to talk more about his upbringing, how it got him to where he is today, and how he hopes his story inspires someone. Take a look: “I know a lot of artists have used baby pictures and kid photos to tell their story or reveal there journey , but this one different ! this is the 8th grade me , this was a proof pic because like many of us we couldn’t afford to order the picture package and yes I had on 2 chains, slick had on 3,I was an aspiring drug dealer and an occasional thief ( when pop went to prison he told me if I steal , steal stuff I need & not want ).
