Shenseea has been announced as a performer on the main stage at this year’s Summer Jam but she is no stranger to being on this stage or any other. The “Blessed” singer made a surprise appearance at HOT 97’s Summer Jam 2021 and she shut the stage down. However, this year she will be on the main stage as a performer, but before she does, let's get to know her better.Born Chinsea Lee, in Jamaica, the singer’s career started in the church. She was also inspired by the musical likes of Lady Saw, Spice, and Vybz Kartel. Fast forward to 2016 when Shenseea appeared on the music scene with her hit single “Loodi” featuring Vybz Kartel. The hits didn’t stop there. Shenseea reached her big breakout with her single ‘ShenYeng Anthem’ which gained a total of 6.1 million U.S. streams according to Nielsen Music. Her next single, “Blessed” featuring Tyga, was released and landed in the number 2 spot on Billboard’s Reggae Digital Song Sales chart. Shenseea has gone on to work with artists such as Swae Lee, Roddy Rich, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kanye West. In 2022, she released her debut album Alpha and she was nominated for her first Grammy award for her collaborations with Kanye West’s album Donda.
