Free Shows at Roy Wilkins Park!

This weekend is your chance to see hip-hop and R&B legends perform live in Queens absolutely free of charge! This Saturday, August 13th at Roy Wilkins Park, New Yorkers have the opportunity to see Ja Rule, The LOX, and Rakim in a special free performance curated by HOT 97’s Funk Flex.

If you miss the opportunity to see those New York legends, the very next day at Roy Wilkins Park there will be yet another free Rise Up NYC concert! On Sunday, August 14th music fans are welcome to come and enjoy the talents of PJ Morton, Marsha Ambrosius, Raheem DeVaughn. Alison Hinds, Montell Jordan, 112, Dahved Levy, Screechy, and Red Fox! Sunday’s show has something for everyone, whether you love Reaggaeton, R&B, or old school hip-hop!

In the spirit of unity Rise Up NYC is hosting concerts for all of New York to enjoy this weekend. These shows are the fourth and fifth out of a ten show concert series taking place throughout New York City to promote unity and respect citywide!

All Rise Up shows are free of charge and meant to uplift the communities they take place in. When else will you have the chance to see artists like Rakim and The LOX absolutely free of charge on a Saturday night or Marsha Ambrosius, Montell Jordan, and Red Fox all on the same stage!

Roy Wilkins Park is accessible via the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica with a quick transfer to either the Q5 or Q84 bus to 120 Av & Sunbury Rd stop; you could also take the LIRR to St. Albans.

Saturday’s hip-hop show starts at 4pm and ends at 8pm, whereas Sunday’s show goes from 3pm to 8pm.
