It appears North West will follow in her father’s footsteps earlier than expected. On Sunday (March 11), the 10-year-old announced her debut album.  Paying homage to her father’s 2004 debut, The College Dropout (Def Jam), North will call her debut album, Elementary School Dropout

The College Dropout featured Jay-Z, Common, Jamie Foxx, Twista, Ludacris, and more. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, selling 441,000 copies first week, and includes the classics “All Falls Down,” “Through The Wire,” and “Jesus Walks.”

North West made her recording debut in February on “Talking” from Vultures Vol.1, the new joint album by Ty Dolla $ign and her father Kanye West. North would become one of the youngest artists in history to reach number one on the Billboard charts. A music video for the track was released last month and generated over 17 million views on YouTube.

Vultures Vol.1 is part of a forthcoming trilogy, with volume 2 set to release in the second quarter of 2024. Originally scheduled for release on March 8, Ty and Ye shared the next album’s cover art but delayed the release. On Saturday (March 9), Ye shared a tweet that suggested he plans to sell the next installment straight to consumers.

Inspired by James Blake, Ye shared on social media:

“Like James Blake said streaming devalues our music.I got 20 million Instagram followers. When 5% of my followers buy an album, that's 1 million albums sold. That's 300k more than the biggest album last year. How do you feel about us not streaming and only selling the album digitally.”

Various sources confirmed North West's upcoming debut; however, no further information was available at press time. North has been performing alongside her father at the Vultures’s listening events across the world.
