Nicki Minaj Becomes The First Female Rapper To Reach 1 Billion Streams In 2024
Nicki Minaj adds another accolade as it was announced that she has become the first female rapper of 2024 to reach one billion streams on Spotify after setting a record for biggest female rap debut and selling the most tickets on her upcoming Pink Friday 2 world tour.
The Juice Pop Twitter account broke the news on Wednesday (Feb. 28). In December 2023, Minaj's latest album debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, becoming the first female rapper to achieve three number-one albums. Pink Friday 2 features J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, and the hit songs “FTCU,” “Everybody,” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.”
Minaj also hit the top of the charts in January during her feud with Megan Thee Stallion, which saw her release response songs “Big Foot” to Megan’s “HISS.” And with the addition of more shows, The Pink Friday 2 world tour kicks off in Oakland, California this March.
The new accomplishment comes on the heels of Minaj and her husband heading into a lawsuit by a former security guard who claims was assaulted during a backstage conversation in 2019.
