New Report: OnlyFans Tops DoorDash, Instacart As The Most Profitable Side Hustle
From Rachel Dolezal’s termination to Iggy Azalea’s decision to focus on adult content to John Cena launching an account in promotion of his new film, OnlyFans has been making headlines and a lot of money for content creators as a side hustle, according to new reports.
Workers are making the most money on content subscription services over supplemental employment with Walmart, GrubHub, Instacart, and DoorDash, according to Keeper's tax filing service, as reported by the NY Post on Feb. 23. According to Keeper, among the 2,200 submitted W-9 and 1099 forms in 2023, OnlyFans content creators made a median annual income of $4,995.
Keeper reports that a side hustle at Walmart provided an additional annual income of $3,677, while an Instacart delivery driver earned an additional $3,445, and GrubHub contractor made $3,085 per year. DoorDash drivers made $2,636 in median yearly earnings.
Launched in 2016, OnlyFans allows content creators to share exclusive content behind a paywall. The social media platform includes some of the biggest celebrities in pop culture such as Bella Thorne, Whitney Cummings, and Denise Richards. OnlyFans creators have earned over $8 billion from the platform since the launch.
Cardi B, Iggy Azalea, Rubi Rose, and Bhad Bhabie are some of the top earners on the platform. Azalea earned $300,000 within 24 hours of launching her OnlyFans account in 2023. While Snoop Dogg turned the opportunity, other rap stars Kash Doll, Asian Doll, and Blueface recently joined OnlyFans.
A recent survey shared that 39% of Americans have side hustles, while 49% believe they will always need a side hustle.
