Kodak Black will be released from federal detainment after the dismissal of his cases in Florida courts, according to his attorney. The judge dismissed the rapper's case on a admitted failure to report charge. His attorney, Bradford Cohen, confirmed this on Instagram.

“Federal Probation terminated with time served,” Cohen’s caption began with a photo of Kodak. “In the Southern District of Florida, Judge Martinez dismissed all substantive counts and Kodak plead to sole violation of failure to report police contact. Time served and he should be released by tonight…”

Wednesday’s dismissal is a result of an original dismissed possessions case in Fort Lauderdale, Florida earlier this month. Judge Barbara Duffy signed and ordered a dismissal of the charges after it was reported that the alleged cocaine in Black’s possession during a December traffic stop arrest in Plantation, Florida was actually prescribed oxycodone.

The 26-year-old rap star has been detained in federal custody since December. Black, real name Bill Kapri, was pardoned by former President Donald Trump in 2021 after he was convicted on federal weapons charges.

Kodak Black is expected to welcome his fourth child with his girlfriend this Friday (Feb.23). He is currently a part of the #1 album in the country as he appears on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s new joint album, Vultures Vol.1, on the song “Drunk,” also featuring Bad Bunny.
