K Camp Opens Up About Personal And Professional Growth With Miabelle
Rapper K Camp recently did an interview with HOT 97’s Miabelle where he discussed his final album with Interscope, relationships, and individual growth.
The Atlanta-born rapper quickly rose to fame in 2020 thanks to the music-based social media platform, TikTok. Because of this, K Camp’s song “Lottery (Renegade)” was loved worldwide. Now in 2022, K Camp just released his newest album “Vibe Forever”. This recent project is his last album with the record label Interscope.
Camp unfortunately endured problematic ties with the record label back in 2020 after his song went viral. In a series of Twitter posts, the rapper blasted Interscope for their lack of support. This happened just a month after Tory Lanez was having his own issues with the label where he threatened to expose Interscope.
During the interview with Miabelle, K Camp expresses his gratitude for being a part of the record label. He shares with viewers, “I had a good run with them [Interscope], but it’s time for me to do what I want to do”. Camp continues, “I’m not going to sit here and bash them like we didn’t put out some great records.” Although K Camp will no longer make hits with Interscope, the raper now has the creative freedom to put out new hits as an independent musician.
K Camp is now happily moving forward with his newfound freedom and opened up to Miabelle about this new stage in life. His newest project reflects on his journey of learning about himself and the transitional phase of putting himself first. During the interview, he revealed that there were many hardships and toxic relationships that were going on in his life: “Everything comes to light when s— gets dark.”
