Ja Morant Allegedly Flashes Gun On Instagram Again Two Months After NBA Suspension
On Sunday (May 14), Ja Morant was suspended by the NBA again after a video showing the Memphis Grizzlies point guard flashing a gun while in a car with friends circulated online. The footage was posted by @_dtap2 on Instagram and has yet to be authenticated.
“We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant. He is suspended from all team activities pending league review,” the Grizzlies said in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.”
This incident comes two months after the 23-year-old was hit with an eight-game suspension after another Instagram Live captured him brandishing a gun at a strip club called Shotgun Willie’s in Glendale, Colorado.
Morant denied that the gun was his in the March incident and enrolled in a Florida counseling program. “I take full responsibility for my actions last night,” he said in a statement. “I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
