Online court documents released Wednesday (Jan. 31) show Sean "Brother Love/Diddy/Puff Daddy" Combs requesting that the name of the woman who filed the lawsuit against him, as well as a co-defendant Harve Pierre who is accused of sexual assault, be publicly revealed.

Court reporter Meghann Cuniff recently shared a new filing on her social media that was made in a federal case. She explained that the filing was submitted in response to a previous filing made by Diddy's defense team, which has been kept sealed from public access.

Jane doe’s lawyer argued that the request was a tactic by the 54-year-old mogul and his defense. “So that they can publicly malign her because she is the victim of a completely separate set of wrongdoings" 20 years later,” said Jane Doe’s attorney. “Piggybacking on their plan to use Plaintiff’s status as a victim of totally unrelated wrongdoing to drag her through the mud in this case, Defendants suggest that if Plaintiff’s name is publicly disclosed, relevant witnesses might start coming out of the woodwork..."

The Jane Doe accuses Combs of sexually assaulting her in 2003. A photo of her sitting on Combs lap from that time was accompanied by the lawsuit. Combs denies all accusations and says the woman is chasing money behind the mogul’s previous lawsuit being publicized in the media.

The request for the identity reveal will be decided by a federal judge.

The latest lawsuit follows his highly-publicized settlement with former girlfriend Cassie. While he settled for an undisclosed amount, he still proclaimed his innocence and would be working on clearing his name of any wrongdoing. Combs made another public statement in December 2023 upon receiving the new lawsuit, saying “enough is enough.”

Combs shared he would not be attending this year’s Grammy Awards this weekend behind the recent scrutiny.
