Cassie's Lawyer Speaks Out After Diddy's Properties Raided
Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, 37, issued a statement after federal agents raided the mogul’s properties on Monday (March 26).
In a statement to Good Morning America, Cassie's attorney, Douglas Wigdor, said:
"We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law," the statement read. "Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct."
Wigdor represented Cassie in a sexual assault and sex trafficking lawsuit against Diddy filed in November 2023, which ended in an undisclosed settlement. Cassie and Diddy released official statements following the settlement, with the mogul remaining silent. After he was sued for sexual assault again in January, Diddy issued a statement to clear his name.
After the lawsuit, Cassie announced plans to return to music and embark on a nationwide tour.
On Tuesday evening, Diddy and his attorneys released a statement regarding Monday's raid on his properties. Diddy's statement by representatives describes the investigation as a "witch hunt":
"Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs' residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated,' Dyer said, painting a picture of yesterday's events.
"Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities,' he added, referencing Combs seen speaking with customs at an airport minutes from his Miami Beach pad, Monday evening, though was not arrested. "Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way."
"This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits."
"There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name."
Others to react to the federal raid include 50 Cent, Suge Knight, Aubrey O’Day, and Wack 100.
Following the raid, producer Lil Rod added Cuba Gooding Jr to a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy. Lil Rod claims the actor sexually assaulted him during a recording session in 2023.
